Within the AMG organization, this individual is a key part of the team that takes vision and makes it into reality; that enables us to make innovation part of the ongoing value that we deliver to clients and network partners. The functionality of our web-based platform utilizes data in ways that build barriers to entry for our competition and value for our business. This role will be instrumental to continuing to build upon the momentum and innovation that AMG has brought to market with our web-based, data-driven applications.
This individual is a skilled software engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving startup environment where innovation is a constant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Web applications development from scratch
Turn good business ideas into great software
Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages
Work with PHP/jQuery/AJAX web applications and MySQL databases
Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
Support, maintain, and document software functionality
Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Software testing and quality assurance
Learn and master third party APIs and web services to integrate into our custom apps
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
Extraordinary software engineering talent
3+ years PHP development
2+ years using MVC frameworks
Strong experience working with multiple browsers and devices (e.g. PC, Mac, mobile, etc.)
Strong Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery and AJAX)
Strong Experience with MySQL databases
Experience with source control software and practices
Thinks like the customer, designs as an architect, and codes as an engineer
Delivers seamless, well-performing and engaging products
Believes in code quality and maintainability
Strong attention to detail
Loves the start-up environment
Exceptional follow-through skills, personal drive and the desire to make a difference
EXCEPTIONAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
A working knowledge of Yii Framework
An impressive portfolio demonstrating these skills
Experience administering Unix/Linux and Apache
Experience working with APIs and web services
Experience with Rails, Perl, Python
Experience with social media APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Google+)
