PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Advertising Platform Group (APG) is responsible for building and supporting best-in-class advertising applications and reporting interfaces to serve key performance metrics, analysis reports and tools for internal and external customers while streamlining advertiser and publisher experiences via presentation consistency within Advertiser and Publisher platform. Platforms maintain a high level of quality, availability, data integrity, data accuracy and speed with minimal-to-none discrepancy and latency. APG builds and supports low-latency, high-throughput ad matching, ranking and serving platform, which is easy to operate and scale upon. APG develops and supports multi-purpose core.
This internship provides the opportunity to work on projects such as:
New Java script visualization modules for ARP rendering: real-time animated charts, interactive node graphs, global maps, heat maps, scatter graphs, drill down data grids, and notifications.
Market research: conduct internal/external surveys with stakeholders, gathering feedback for future development
Research usage stats on different web properties, identifying which reporting dimensions/metrics are most popular.
Incorporate new content-rich features into Advertiser User Interface
Incorporate new connections such as social media, project/ticket management queues, custom data source and widgets
Implement a documentation storage system for engineering artifacts
Position Reports To: Director, Advertising Technology
Mentor: Senior Engineer
3.3 GPA in Computer Science, Physics, Math, or other quantitative/logic field.
Skills and Abilities:
One or more summers/quarters of prior experience in any work environment.
Educational knowledge: Linux, Apache, SQL, PHP, Perl, and Java.
Must be detail-oriented, very self-motivated and be willing to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and communication skills.
