Are you a motivated, data-driven engineering leader ready to direct the design, development and deployment of cutting edge natural language processing products? If so, let?s talk about your becoming the Engineering Director who leads our team in San Francisco, reporting to our Vice President of Engineering in Cambridge, MA.Responsibilities
Direct the agile team of engineers in our San Francisco office developing one or more of our natural language processing products, includes serving as:
Product Owner: decide the most valuable work to do sprint-by-sprint to fulfill larger goals set in collaboration with product management
Technical Owner: decide how the work is done to fulfill your architectural vision and facilitating by whom it?s done to effectively engage each member of the team
Personnel Manager: mentor, develop, manage, and recruit top-notch text analytics software engineers
Serve as a key member of the Engineering Management team advising on department-wide decisions
Engage with current and prospective customers, including coordination of last-line product support
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and development infrastructure providers, many of whom are in Cambridge
Qualifications
Master?s or Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or a related field (e.g., Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval)
Track-record of directing a strong text analytics engineering team at a fast pace while fostering a sense of camaraderie, transparency and collaboration
Strong software architecture taste and commitment to measurement
Success mentoring and recruiting talented engineers
Eagerness to understand and exceed customer and business expectations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with machine learning, Solr/Lucene, ?Big Data? analytics, and/or non-English languages is a plus
