JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
Due to continued growth we are seeking an Engineering Manager at our 2000+ employee reverse logistics and repair center for the wireless industry.
Summary of Functions:
Provide leadership to the Engineering department which provides support to the Program by developing labor standards, preparing a variety of staffing and efficiency analyses, identifying cost savings opportunities and conducting other studies as needed; and to Other Programs in Fort Worth by estimating cost and prices for each opportunity, preparing proposals, and coordinating operations startups.
Essential Functions:
Department Leadership: Hire, train and develop an Industrial Engineering staff with the expertise needed to support programs. Provide technical support and direction to the Plant Industrial Engineers.
Develop labor standards process flow diagrams and job descriptions for both new and existing operations; estimate facility staffing requirements; assist in development of ability budgets; identify evaluate and implement productivity improvements; prepare various analyses and conduct studies as required; and review operations to ensure compliance.
Project Support: Support developments of Commercial proposals by providing estimates for facilities, equipments, staffing and transportation requirements, cost and pricing for analyses and providing assistance in the preparations of proposals. Document processes, systems and job descriptions to facilitate operational startups, providing on-site support as required. Analyze on-going costs providing comparisons to prior cost and price estimates.
Root cause analysis, Process Development and Documentations: Select the correct model for receipt put away, picking and packing solutions. Identify storage and picking strategy based on product dims and activity levels. Convert contract documents and SOW into work instructions and operation procedures, and submit to QMS.
Facility Design and Equipment Specifications: Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product envelope, product flow and transportation methods and building layouts and power requirements. Specify material handling and storage equipment solutions. Identify and specify use of automation where justified. Identify office equipment and up fit requirements. Create equipment and operation supply list and purchase requisitions. Work with IT resources to develop equipment requirements based on activity levels.
Manpower Planning: Determine startup and ongoing personnel requirements based on activity levels and product profile. Identify management and supervisory requirements for Operations personnel. Identify special skills needed and provided job descriptions for hiring. Time study analysis to establish production standards for departments processes.
IT Solution Specifications and Functionality Testing: Work with IT team to identify and document new IT functionality not currently available. Identify changes to existing functionality currently available. Test IT solutions and functionality
Packaging Requirements: Based on mode/method of transportation and product profile, specify packing methods to be used. Specify containers/cartons, and packing requirements. Provide annual cost estimates for packing materials. Create carbonizations tables.
Project5 Scheduling: Using Microsoft project, develop time estimates for process documentation, conversation of existing processes, and development, test and implementation of new processes. Publish start-up lands with milestones and responsibilities.
Operations Employee Training: Train Operations employees using process work instructions. Coordinate safety, environmental, equipment, and process training requirements with HR, Compliance, and Safety Manager.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
BSIE
6+ years of operations and distribution related work experience
