About the Job
We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager II for Nexant?s Placentia office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of engineers supporting demand side management programs for commercial, industrial, and utility clients. Our clients include public agencies, investor-owned utilities administering ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs, energy end users, and energy service companies. Successful candidates must demonstrate ability to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position. Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for an Engineering Team of 4 to 5 full time staff
Maintain quality control of all deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules
Manage day to day aspects of projects including quality of work product, client communications, budget, schedule, and directing technical staff
Collaborate with a Program Management Team that manages programs related to energy utilization including strategic planning, client relationships, proposal preparation, and project management
Meet with clients to manage projects, present results, and develop new scopes of work
Work in partnership with other Engineering Managers across the division to ensure proper knowledge management and engineering best practices
Support the development of new business opportunities and relationships in collaboration with the Business Development and Account Managers
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's degree in mechanical, architectural, electrical, or civil engineering is strongly preferred
Project management and engineering management experience is required
Minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional working experience within the energy efficiency or any engineering related industry
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and work with technical staff
Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills
An understanding of building systems (particularly HVAC and lighting), thermodynamics, and heat transfer
