Position: Engineering Manager ? Marine
The Engineering Manager is responsible for the integration of the mechanical, fluid, electrical, instrumentation and control components into an optimized and efficient heat engine. As such, this position will be responsible for managing an internal team of systems engineers, component designers and owners, and will also work closely with outside contract engineering resources, component and subcomponent vendors to ensure timely execution of deliverables. The Senior Systems Engineer will focus heavily on commercial systems and project management to deliver a technical solution to respond to customer needs on a cradle to grave basis. Specific emphasis will be placed on the following responsibilities:
Leads a large cross-functional team, comprised of direct report and functional support engineers, which have the collective responsibility for designing and developing the end product
Coordinates engineering activities with the Program Manager to maintain schedule and budget compliance
Identifies new or alternative solutions/technology which improve the value of the end product
Provides regular communication to the team and members of management regarding progression of project
Drives mitigation of technical risk and provides communication of project variances to management
Assists with EIS (entry into service) activities to ensure first article operates as designed and meets customer?s expectations
Will need to occasionally travel to customer?s and vendor?s sites

What we view as important in your background that would prepare you for this position:
10+ years of experience in the power generation equipment industry and/or demonstrable experience working in one or more of the following areas:
- Gas turbine packages
- Heat recovery steam generator technologies
- High speed turbo-machines
- High pressure fluid systems
- Other complex engineered products that produce power or work
2+ years of experience working with shipboard systems, equipment and integration via the Navy or
commercial marine operators and/or shipbuilders;
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering required; M.S. preferred;
Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams to solve technical challenges and deliver commercial results;
Experience with best practices of Fortune level companies;
Familiarity with IEEE 1547, UL standards and ASME piping and pressure vessel codes; and,
Demonstrable excellent communication and presentation skills.
