SUMMARY:Directs, leads and manages the design, construction, testing, and documentation activities for development
of new and existing technology for single frequency fiber laser devices and fiber-based ASE sources from
product definition and planning through production release.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a team manager, provide technical and managerial guidance to people on the team and direct their
work.
Work with other functions of the company to establish and communicate needs (budget, manpower,
instrumentation) and results (technical reviews, white papers, instructions and more).
Working with Marketing, develop new product specifications and project plans.
Develop suitable documentation for product transfer to Manufacturing
Provide technical support for customers with regard to integration of product into next level systems and for
applications information.
Provide technical support to manufacturing as necessary.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will have a group of direct reports that are engineers and engineering technicians. Excellent
communication skills across different levels of skills and education are expected. Candidate must be
comfortable with a high-pressure environment, able to work with minimal supervision and be a quick selfstarter.
Experience with managing remote locations a plus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
PhD or equivalent experience in relevant subject (Physics, EE, Engineering, )
5 yrs of related experience
Currently eligible to work in the US
Expert in laser design and development
Knowledge and experience in fiber lasers highly desired
Expert in project management
Expert in understanding of product manufacturability
Knowledge in optical noise measurement (RIN and Phase Noise) and in determination of noise sources.
Excellent communication skills across all functions and levels of education
Excellent documentation practices
Self starter and hands-on lab skills
Fluent written and spoken English,
Understanding of interferometric sensing applications is a plus
Knowledge of LabView programming is a plus.
