The Engineering Planner will use established guidelines to release production and work orders, expedite WIP or rescheduling due to material availability or capacity changes, review and report production schedule changes to Supervision/Management as required.
Support Project Engineers through all facets of prototype and product developments in regards to material, assemblies and documentation.
Fully participate in Product Readiness Reviews and transition of product from engineering to production.
Support status, material, drawings, releases, shortages, and assist the product progression.
Responsible for planning of prototype and pre-production module and systems.
Participate in Design Reviews.
Prepare, release and maintain open jobs, including job orders in WIP incorporating ECO changes.
Establish, maintain and monitor of prototype and pre-production material requirement.
Work with Purchasing to manage local contract manufacturer (CM) to ensure on-time delivery.
Report and track schedule status to Program Management Office (PMO).
Support various product status meetings.
Interface with various functions to assure data and job integrity.
Assist Project Engineers (PE--??'s) on BOM entry.
Disposition excess/obsolete material in WIP and Stock prior to production hand-off.
Participate in cost reductions and productivity improvement programs.
Work proactively, on a daily basis, with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering and other departments to ensure schedules are maintained.
Bachelors Degree in Business or related field is preferred or an Associates' Degree with five plus years planning experience.
Good understanding of supply chain processes.
Strong analytical skills.
Good MS Office skills - working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of fundamental planning principles, MRP, Lean. Demand/supply planning.
Basic understanding of project management methodology.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP principles and materials management is a must (Epicor/Vantage a plus).
Knowledge of Production and Purchasing functions in a Manufacturing Environment.
Working knowledge of flow of Engineering and Engineering Change Order requirements.
Strong oral and written communication skills, must have the ability to communicate at all levels and have great interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, self motivated, ability to handle high volume workload and changing priorities in a fast paced department.
