Engineering Program Manager Desktone
The Engineering Program Manager ensures the efficiency and productivity of the engineering team. The right candidate must have a strong program management background, demonstrated experience leading projects from design through to completion, and be well rounded technically. This position is located in Lexington, MA. Desktone is a fast paced, continually evolving, and energetic startup environment. You must be a highly motivated individual who has experience working across all parts of the organization including product management, sales, support, and marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and track both internal and external projects on a daily basis including working with Desktone partners
Serve as scrum master for the Lexington engineering team
Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution
Coordinate overall project status for scrum teams spread across multiple sites
Establish a software development process that drives maximum productivity and quality throughout the organization
Provide leadership and project planning for all new and existing products
Required Qualifications:
Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science (or equivalent degree)
7 or more years software development experience with at least 3 years in either a direct technical manager or program manager role
A strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology
Ability to work across multiple teams and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical teammates
Knowledgeable of technologies including Java EE, Linux, and relational databases (equivalent .Net/C# experience acceptable)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
Scrum certification
Knowledge of virtualization software and/or cloud platforms
Experience with distributed, scalable, high performance software platforms
