THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Assists product development engineers with various research and development activities. Uses solidworks to model simple to moderately complex implants, surgical instruments, fixtures, jigs and packaging. Creates engineering prints, following company standards, for part manufacturing. Writes test protocols and conducts basic testing and writes test reports presenting the results.
Perform component and assembly design, and solid modeling using SolidWorks CAD software for simple to moderately complex implant and instrument systems.
Prepare detailed part and assembly drawings for various types of medical devices
Contribute to the development of SOPs, operational procedures and other related documents.
Attend meetings and design reviews as needed.
Conduct preliminary patent searches.
Perform mechanical testing and prepare test protocols and reports.
Prepare support materials for regulatory submissions including 510(k), PMA, and CE mark applications
Maintain sufficient and accurate technical records per company policies
High school degree and actively pursuing an Engineering degree at an accredited university
Must be actively pursuing engineering degree and show interest in medical devices.
Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to other individuals and teams.
Some exposure to, and knowledge of, mechanical design and manufacturing processes and environments
Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Comfortable working with and seeking optimum solutions with mechanical engineering team members, regulatory, clinical, quality, marketing, and manufacturing.
Strong creative ability.
