Responsible for leading the HR support for assigned business units/organizations. Duties include HR management of employee relations, compensation management, performance management, compliance and other special projects as required, including assisting with recruitment/employment as needed. Provide HR guidance and service to management on policies, procedures and programs; as well as, counsel management and employees concerning work-related problems, HR issues and general questions. Conducts research and analyzes data on assigned projects and assists with compensation review, policy and other HR programs or procedures as required. Ensures that the Company?s business and legal interests are protected. Responsibilities & Expectations
?Communicate, distribute and ensure managers understand all HR programs, policies and procedures
?Advise managers on HR policy application and procedural issues. Resolve complex issues as applicable, or as appropriate, escalate to senior HR management.
?Assist managers in resolving HR related problems and employee relations issues. Work through problems with Management, guiding them to develop effective solutions. When required intervene in problems/situations, ensuring problems/situations are handled responsibly and resolved fairly and effectively.
?Assist in managing the Performance Management program (provide training, assist managers, review performance appraisals for fairness and consistency, gather reporting rating distribution, etc.)
?Assist in managing and administering the Salary Administration Process (assisting managers with market data, determination of increase percentages, gathering data/corrections for salary planning work sheets, reviewing work sheets etc.)
?Identify potential issues within assigned business units/organizations and keep HR management updated on these issues.
?Assist employees understanding of Company programs and policies.
?Serve as the primary contact for employee questions and facilitate resolutions of manager and employee issues. Coach employees on effective strategies for resolving issues through manager. Intervene when necessary.
?Understand and comply with employment laws and legal requirements governing the HR field, including the United States, Canada and the UK.
?Answer benefit questions and assist employees in providing forms, processes and contact information of benefit administrators.
?Work with HR administration and, when necessary, prepare HR documents and paperwork e.g. offer letters; promotion/transfer letters; termination letters, etc. Ensure that documentation is within corporate policy and guidelines.
?Inform HR Service Center of all employee information changes ? responsible for ensuring service center receives accurate employee information (ready for data processing) in an organized timely efficient manner
?Assist in developing local HR process improvements, effective controls, and procedures. Recommend procedural changes that will enhance current processes in the HR organization.
?Provide analytical data with regards to salary, recruitment, headcount, and turnover information; as well as, assist with all legislated data requirements as required.
Recruiting & Staffing (as needed)
?Review business unit staffing requirements.
?Provide managers with necessary guidance to make appropriate staffing decisions for the business unit.
?Develop recruitment plan for each position including responsibilities and sourcing strategies. Administer hiring process including requisition management, sourcing, resume distribution, screening, interviewing, applicant tracking, reference checking, hiring, integration and orientation.
?Ensure that company policies and processes are adhered to, including requisition/hire approval, offer compensation, and employment agreements with third party vendors.
?Manage recruitment sources and tools.
? Professional Human Resources certification, Degree with HR Concentration, or minimally 7 to 10 years of related HR work experience.
? Demonstrable HR experience in several disciplines with an established a track record for providing high quality HR support to senior management. Further, must have experience supporting the HR function in a corporate environment and an understanding of other HR functions in a generalist capacity. Software industry experience highly desired.
? Significant Human Resources experience and detailed knowledge in multiple functional areas: (i) recruiting, (ii) employee relations; (iii) training and development; (iiii) compensation; and/or (v) benefit administration; with an understanding of all of the functional areas.
? Thorough experience administering company policies, programs and procedures including guiding managers on policy interpretation.
? Solid knowledge of HR practices, principles, and all applicable laws and regulations as they relate to recruiting, employment, pay, benefits, etc.
? Proficient planning, communication, presentation skills.
? Excellent customer service skills. Developing analytical and problem solving skills.
? Ability to make sound reliable, effective decisions.
? Solid organization and administrative skills.
? Proficient in the use of standard office applications (e.g. MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
? Some understanding of technology and its uses.
? Ability to utilize all available resources to resolve recruitment and employment issues.
? Expertise in a particular HR specialty and a strong working knowledge of other HR disciplines.
? Ability to handle increasingly complex and challenging HR assignments.
