Intervolve, Inc., a Raleigh, NC based company, was founded in 1999 and has since grown to serve the business software needs of the beer industry for beer wholesalers and beer suppliers. DistributionSuite (Flagship product, enterprise reporting, BI/CRM) has a primary web interface developed in a LAMP environment utilizing the latest versions of Zend Framework, Doctrine, ExtJS and other frameworks and libraries. There are also several handheld interfaces, native and web-based. DistributionSuite serves as a market data collection tool with various supporting functionality, and as a reporting tool with the ability for a user to create complex reports.Intervolve is a fast growing small company focused on developing innovative solutions in the beverage distribution industry.

We are looking for an individual who can bring in their strong computer science/engineering foundations and interest in the industry and channel it to developing reusable solutions in this fast paced environment.
Position description
Development on DistributionSuite benefits from a wide breadth of technical skill sets, particularly in web-based environments. As a mid-level contributor to the team you'll work mostly independently on small projects with a few ongoing team projects. The majority of the programming work will be in PHP, JavaScript, SQL and MDX using Zend Framework?s MVC architecture, Doctrine as an ORM, ExtJS as a UI framework and MySQL databases. Opportunities also constantly exist to utilize alternative technologies if a justifiable case is made. Our current development activities are leaning heavily towards OLAP/Analytical reporting and smart device, iOS and Android, client applications with offline support. You will be working with a great set of skilled developers and supportive management in a development environment that uses up-to-date technologies and life cycle development practices.
Basic qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
2+ years working with latest versions of PHP or other high level languages
2+ years of web based application development experience
Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) for working within the development team
Demonstrable ability to respond positively to user feedback and constructive criticisms
Preferred qualifications
2+ years working professionally with PHP, JavaScript, and related web technologies
Demonstrable ability to work towards optimal solutions through requirements gathering, research, design, implementation, testing and iterative development, both as part of a team and independently.
Development experience with latest versions of Zend Framework, Doctrine, ExtJS
Development experience with OLAP, enterprise reporting, business intelligence tools
Development experience with user interfaces for modern mobile touch based platforms (iOS, Android)
