Job Qualifications (basic job description):
Aurora Flight Sciences, a leading Aerospace and UAS Manufacturing Company, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager who will be in charge of providing leadership and functional expertise for our Columbus, MS Facility. In this EHS Manager role, you will be responsible for overall direction of the safety and environmental compliance program of the plant. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will develop and administer safety programs to ensure safe, compliant, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
Working with the Director of HR, develop and administer an annual EHS plan and all required elements
Plan and implement the safety policies and procedures.
Working with the Workforce Development Manager, train all employees on the safety policies & procedures.
Prepare studies and analysis of industrial accident causes and hazards to heath
Coordinate routine inspection of facility.
Determine corrective or preventive measures.
Lead investigations of accidents, injuries, and close calls.
Working with the appropriate HR Manager, compile and submit accident reports with Workers Compensation.
Manages the plant environmental reporting records.
Submits required reports to regulatory agencies.
Ensure compliance with the plant?s air permits
Manage the plant hazardous waste storage and disposal needs.
Manage proper shipping of waste off site.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
BS degree in related field.
Minimum of 7 years demonstrated EHS management experience in a manufacturing environment
Incident Investigation expertise including Root Cause Analysis or some other similar methodology
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing multiple EH&S strategies and processes
Experience in conducting EH&S Audits and implementing process improvement changes.
Good communication skills - Verbal and Written.
Ability to travel as needed or required (estimated about 15% of the time).
Ability to perform all activities related to the specific responsibilities outlined above.
