Job Description:
The primary position of the Backend Equipment Engineer is to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, improve, and perform general, routine and preventative maintenance of all backend processing and test equipment, which includes assembly, die-sorting, wafer level testing, and complex inspection systems.
Job Responsibilities:
? Perform routine preventative maintenance on tools in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications.
? Perform electro-mechanical and mechanical root cause troubleshooting of all backend equipment.
? Support inspection and sort equipment software, mapping organization, and maintenance.
? Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment according to operating manuals, schematics, blueprints, etc.
? Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform equipment checks and characterization.
? Work closely with process engineers to understand backend equipment interactions and limitations relative to operating specifications.
? As needed, modifies equipment to improve up-time or overall process performance.
? Support production as needed.
? Work with vendors for technical assistance and support.
? Maintain critical spare parts inventory.
? Perform new equipment installation s and assist with start-up and acceptance testing.
Experience and Skills:
Equipment Experience:
? Die Sorters
? Wafer Defect Inspection Systems
? Automated Wafer Level Probe Testers
? Integrated Sphere Testers
? Assembly Equipment: Die Attach, Reflow, Wire Bonding, Metrology
? Laser Scribe experience a plus
Qualifications:
? BS in related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
? Requires a minimum of 10 years of backend equipment experience directly related to assembly, test, and sort.
? Must be able to work in a class 1,000 cleanroom.
? Advanced computer skills and familiarity with die sort mapping a strong plus.
? Skills related to this position include, but not limited to, both reactive and preventative maintenance of all backend equipment including assembly, die-sorting, wafer level testing, and complex inspection systems.
Physical Requirements:
Physical health must be sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
Reporting Relationship:
Position reports directly to the Equipment Engineering Manager.
