Freescale has a number of opportunities for Equipment Engineers. As an Equipment Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and analysis of technical products and systems and perform equipment engineering design evaluations. The Equipment Engineer is always working to improve availability, overall equipment efficiency and the quality of our products. The Equipment Engineer coordinates focused efforts with specific area Process Engineering, Maintenance and Equipment Suppliers to support production needs and meet the Fab?s goals. The Equipment Engineer will optimize equipment and systems to improve quality while ensuring delivery and driving down cost. Equipment Engineers initiate projects, lead and/or participate on teams to solve equipment sustaining problems, improve tool performance and strive to be best in class. They are also responsible for documenting, implementing and maintaining equipment hardware improvements and procedures. They drive one culture of excellence and consistent use of Best Known Methods across Freescale factories and across shifts.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology
Must have a strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
Must be proficient in use of MS Excel and PowerPoint
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Lean systems, Statistical Process Control, 8D methodology is a plus
