The Liquidnet Private Shares Group brings efficiencies and scale of Liquidnet?s global institutional network to the fast-growing market in private-company shares trading. Trading in the shares of private and pre-IPO companies has expanded rapidly in recent years, highlighted by interest in such Internet-leaders including Facebook, Twitter, and LivingSocial.
The Liquidnet Private Shares team works with the largest institutional investors around the world seeking access to high-growth opportunities, with private company shareholders seeking to get liquidity for all or part of their shares, and with private companies themselves to set up programs for the orderly transfers of equity stakes. The Research division of the group brings deep expertise in companies which are born out of the transformational social media and mobile revolutions, which complements the group?s expertise in the facilitation of private share sales.
Responsibilities
Serve as primary point of contact with institutional contacts, focusing on building/managing relationships with buyers and sellers of private shares, private companies and intermediaries.
Identify new opportunities; adding to our existing client base and owning the client relationship through the entire sales cycle and beyond.
Effectively communicate and demonstrate Liquidnet?s unique value proposition.
Build, strengthen and maintain relationships with other key stakeholders.
Work with management to define and execute the private shares sales strategy.
Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
3-5 years of extensive Industry/Institutional Sales experience.
Established Institutional contacts and client relationships required.
Series 7 and 63 required.
Must possess a thorough understanding of the private shares business.
Thorough understanding of the social media/internet space.
Must have superior written and verbal communication skills.
Dynamic personality with proven ability to interact/entertain clients is a must.
Must be an avid user of social media.
Proven track record of success.
Ability to travel as required.
