The Escalation Software Engineer position requires extremely strong problem solving skills and the technical knowledge to perform advanced debugging to solve real world customer problems. This position requires an individual who is comfortable communicating technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner to customers, who enjoys working with cross-functional teams, and who has the strong desire to teach and learn new technical skills
Be the engineering focal point for troubleshooting and resolving customer issues.
Must have ability to think out of the box when faced with complex or un-reproducible customer problem.
Proactively address customer concerns and prevent problems from arising
Mentor others through one on one and formal training
Manage key customer accounts from a technical perspective
Must have 8+ years solid technical experience in data communications and software and a BS degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
Strong knowledge of L2, L3 & MPLS technologies.
Must have excellent programming, troubleshooting and debugging skills in C.
Must have experience in configuring and troubleshooting routers & switches
Highly technical knowledge of network architecture and troubleshooting
Experience with advanced software debugging: (gdb, truss/ktrace, tcpdump, other UNIX utilities)
Experience in scripting and using test tools like TCL/Expect, IXIA and Spirent
