Overview:iCrossing, a fast growing digital marketing media company, is seeking an ETL developer in Chicago to work in a challenging environment developing high performance real-time data processing applications. This individual should be a highly motivated and technically proficient engineer who is passionate about data and scaling up data infrastructure who thrives in a casual, fun and technology creative environment.
We are looking for an experienced and driven candidate to fill a key role within our Product Development: Software Engineering group. This position will participate in many data architecture decision and develop advanced technology for Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Integration, and Data Mining. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing large and complex ETL process.
Candidate must have experience with Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and a passion for ?Big Data? and emerging technologies. Experience with large data warehouse preferably on MPP databases is required.
This position reports directly to the Director, Software Engineering within iCrossing?s Product Development organization.
Responsibilities:
Solid Data Warehouse ETL developer with at least 2 to 3 yrs. of tool based ETL development experience. Pentaho is preferred.
Working knowledge of Pentaho Business Intelligence Platform
Working experience on ETL tools with experience on Pentaho Kettle/ Pentaho Data Integration.
ETL design/development experience utilizing the ETL Mapping tools. Expert-level experience with Pentaho.
Should have prior experience in data modeling , data mapping , data conversion/migration Workingexperience using Pentaho features like, Reporting, Analysis, Dashboards
Proven experience in create, edit, update, and publish OLAP schema definitions
Experience in portal integration, metadata management, integration of security
Full Life Cycle Experience in Model, Design, Development of Data warehouse/ETL/BI Solutions.
Hands-on experience with stored procedures and XML
Strong in database concepts.
Experience with UNIX Shell scripting
Experience creating complex queries, stored procedures
Experience collecting and documenting requirements
Expert understanding of DB, data mart/data warehouse Concepts.
Experience in architecting and designing data warehouse.
Strong expertise on Data Modeling and Data Analysis
Experience in administration and configuring / maintenance of multiple Pentaho
Environments (Dev/QA/Prod)
Roles & Responsibilities:
Developing,Testing and deployment of ETL Jobs
Define the technology requirements for the design, build and testing of subscriber related data extract, transformation, load, audit and validation.
Interact with business experts to gather functional requirements and able to convey design process
Interact with support teams regarding non-functional requirements for the solution to be developed
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or related field
5+ years of programming experience
3+ Years of experience in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Data Integration systems
Experience in DW/BI, ETL and distributed environments
Strong hands-on experience with database and SQL, query tuning, ETL tuning
Experience doing data modeling for data integration using ETL tools or open source software
Be hands-on for data modeling tool and preferably any one ETL tool
Significant aptitude for learning business concepts
Familiarity with digital advertising and web analytics a plus
Experience with Netezza a plus
Experience analyzing and working with relational and dimensional modeling
Proven ability to provide strong problem solving skills.
Ability to analyze complex applications and systems.
Be hands-on for ETL tools and Unix scripting including Shell and Perl
Familiarity with digital advertising and web analytics a plus
Experience with large data warehouse around 100 TB is a plus
Experience working in Agile team environment is a plus
