The Events and Communications Manager provides support to the Communications Team by coordinating trade shows and events, and managing the awards program. The ideal candidate will be a person who:
Enjoys building relationships and collaborating with others

Enjoys writing business communications
Uses intuition to manage and communicate potentially sensitive situations
Possesses real-world experience planning events both large and small.
The Events and Communications Manager reports to the Director of Communications within the Marketing Department and works closely with the Marketing and Sales Team, as well as external constituents.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates trade shows and events
The Events and Communications Manager effectively coordinates trade shows and events for the company by:
Planning and coordinating all aspects of exhibiting trade shows and events, including premium events that involve a significant investment of time and money and smaller events that are more turn key in nature.
Updating playbooks about the larger shows and reviewing the details with attendees and those who are impacted by the show.
Coordinating the invitation of customers to attend key events and participate as living testimonials and/or speakers where appropriate.
Hosting customer/prospect dinners.
Videotaping customer testimonials during events.
Building a marketing campaign for pre- and post-show attendees with the Marketing Campaign Manager.
Negotiating effectively with vendors and show management.
Managing the event budget with a goal to come under projections.
Organizing all trade show assets, including ensuring that demo stations are continually updated and appropriate tools are shipped to the correct shows/events.
Maintaining the trade show storage unit and trade show premiums.
Ensuring timely receipt of leads generated through the show by working with the CRM Database Manager.
Manage PeopleMatter?s Awards Program
The Events and Communications Manager is responsible for seeking out and applying for awards that will enhance the PeopleMatter brand in the marketplace. This will be achieved by:
Maintaining a list of deadlines for award applications.
Writing content for submissions that strictly follows the award guidelines.
Creating a strategic communication plan for promoting awards received by the company.
Provide Public Relations Support
The Events and Communications Manager will collaborate with the Communications Director to effectively pitch key media and press surrounding news announcements.
Write Blogs, Press Releases and Case Studies
The Events and Communications Manager contributes to blog posts, press release drafts and customer case studies. This includes collaborating with the Communications Team to providing writing support for :
External blog posts that are consistently posted externally.
Customer case studies that demonstrate customer ROI.
Press releases about customer ROI, products and corporate announcements.
The Events and Communications Manager must be able to:
Write clear and concise communications
