Who We Want:
We are looking for a senior-level events leader who can build a rock-solid events strategy, manage a team of veteran event managers, and deliver world-class experiences that result in real business value for the company. We want someone who is passionate about events. Deep functional experience is a requirement ? a proven track record of delivery a must. We are seeking someone who can build a strategy for Bazaarvoice?s entire event investment. Ability to work with and take input from sales and business leadership, C-Level executives and customer care reps is critical to build a strategy based on the right business criteria. The Bazaarvoice events team is a well-oiled machine today. We are looking for a leader who can motivate a hard-working, professional team. Given the dynamic environment that events professionals live within, the team leader will keep everyone focused and upbeat to bring home the goods every time. Most importantly, we want an Events Director with unyielding customer focus. Events are where the rubber meets the road with sales, marketing, and support all in direct contact with both prospects and preferred clients. The ability to visualize a first-class experience, guide the themes/content, and then to make it happen is paramount to success. Finally, as Bazaarvoice marketing is a business-accountable organization, candidates must demonstrate the ability to measure results in a business relevant way. This position is fun and challenging. Company-wide functional leader to set corporate event strategy
Collaborate with C-Suite, senior managers and sales leadership to determine criteria, event strategy, approach, content, attendance, and budget allocation for achieving business results.
Manage strong event team on all aspects of event delivery
Responsible to gauge the right events opportunities in alignment with business requirements
Expert on total event environment for Bazaarvoice?s defined universe. Researches best practices and analyzes target audiences, chooses appropriate mediums to effectively communicate intended information and engage members, ability to ID big opportunities, obtain highest impact at most competitive rates, and to allocate resources for best business outcomes.
Own 1,000 attendee annual corporate Summit in Austin. Annual Summit is a 2.5 day designed to inform consumer and B2B marketing audience about social, the power of word of mouth, on-going trends, and Bazaarvoice solutions.
For marquee events, the director will be responsible to determine the right theme, messaging and framework. Content knowledge and how to apply it in an event setting is critical.
Define and manage regional user groups across the US and Europe.
Executive coach for Bazaarvoice keynoters to prepare and present the highest impact keynotes possible
Assist in the evaluation and selection of geographic locations for events. Site surveys and other travel to secure venue locations that are right for Bazaarvoice events.
Negotiate contracts and evaluate options with a variety of vendors for events and arrange for all related services with vendors, such as decorators, audio?visual needs, buses, signage, entertainment, etc.
Act as consultant and liaison to Marketing and Sales divisions on event strategy, budget, and execution for revenue-driving events.
Develop solid relationships with top industry organizations to secure sponsorships and speaking engagements to maximize Bazaarvoice?s exposure, promote Bazaarvoice?s products and services, and drive bottom-line results.
Simultaneously manage & execute multiple events of varying sizes at any one time. Excellent project management/coordinating skills are essential as is the ability to define, conceptualize and execute a successful event.
Lead audience acquisition effort in partnership with sales organization
Manage extensive budget in alignment with financial processes. Financial accountability for programs including adherence to standards, terms and conditions of contracts, and billing guidelines
Ownership of timeline, budget/pro-forma, and group reporting
Contractual ownership for venues, third party vendors, attendee fees, and event sponsorships.
Management of supplier partners and internal support areas to ensure quality and timely delivery
Gathering and summarization of attendee feedback to continually optimize forthcoming events and gain business insights.
Post-event feedback to all internal stakeholders supporting the events.
Post-event tracking and ROI analysis to help measure the company?s marketing initiatives and to improve future performance. We measure direct business benefit of all marketing activities and will require the event director to be competent in analytics, sales hand-off and ROI tracking (familiarity with Marketo and Salesforce.com a plus)
Member of senior marketing team to provide the right event experience when integrated across other marketing functions
Provide any follow?up to the events such as thank?you letters to speakers, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, etc., as needed.
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
B.A. degree an global event management role at a large association, Fortune 500 firm or similar, or related agency experience
Minimum 6-10 years of Event Management experience required at a large association, Fortune 500 firm, or related agency experience (includes people management)
Deep tactical experience into all aspects of events - whether industry events, corporate summits, or internal events ? ability review/drive any and all aspects of the event planning and execution process.
History of breaking new ground with events and delivering transformational experiences that impress internal partners and turn members/clients into brand evangelists/enthusiasts
Advanced practical and theoretical knowledge of current trending and best practices for in-person and virtual events.
Knowledge of the Bazaarvoice market a plus ? requirement to take a leadership position in strategic messaging, themes, and structure when needed.

Willingness to travel and attend evening and weekend functions

Must be fluent in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new software as needed

Fluent in English, additional languages a plus
Proficient in standard office software such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
