Gilt City is looking for a creative, taste-oriented Events Manager who can help conceptualize, plan and execute an aggressive cadence of events in Gilt City?s 9-12 markets, with a focus on our fashion sample sales (Warehouse Sales).
These Warehouse Sales occur about 2-3x/month in a variety of markets. They are 2-day sample sales on weekends that involve selling merchandise while incorporating partners and sponsors to help create one-of-a-kind events.
This role calls for knowledge of top markets in the US and local marketplace services and vendors, as well as familiarity with retail operations and large-scale event functioning. This person should have professional poise and presence, excellent
communication and negotiation skills and the ability to take initiative and multitask. The Events Manager will work directly with the Gilt City Events Team, report to the Senior Director of Events and serve as a representative of Gilt City to create one-of-a-kind events for our loyal members.
Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated and creative solutions to events, specifically plans and processes to scale and expand on the current Warehouse Sale model
Initiate, plan and execute events in Gilt City?s 9-12 targeted markets across the US
o Own, manage and execute all logistical details from start to finish on events, including strategy, concept, program deck and proposals, vendor confirmation and management, sponsor facilitation, collateral and sale page creation, staffing, rentals, RSVP/ticket sale tracking, travel, onsite management, etc.
o Execute against targets identified and agreed upon by management
o For the year, expected # of events is about 20-30
Compiling event timelines, run of shows, photo tip sheets, details, location information and post-event recaps for every event
Maintaining, researching and seeking out key relationships with vendors, venues and event partners
Qualifications:
At least 6-8 years of event-specific experience
Outstanding communication, leadership and presentation skills
Ability to multi-task and handle fast-paced environment
Expert in building and maintaining strategic partnerships
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Availability to travel for events to target markets
Knowledge of retail operations
Proven track record in conceptualizing, planning and producing events locally and nationally in top markets of the US
