Description
Events Manager
Operative is seeking an energetic and creative Events Manager to join its Marketing team. This role will focus on all aspects related to tradeshows and Operative branded events with the end goal of lead generation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage all aspects related to Operative?s tradeshow and event activities; pre and post show outreach, email creation and deployment, show deliverables and creative execution, organization of onsite meetings; sale rep show preparation; preshow attendee list creation, etc.; engage marketing coordinator as needed for logistical support/coordination
Act as a project manager to work internally with all necessary departments to create event materials according to event timeline
Work with the Demand Generation Manager, PR agency, Designer, and Product Marketing Manager to develop abstracts, presentations and/or speeches, geared towards a clearly established target audience
Research and identify new industry tradeshows for Operative to attend and/or sponsor
Negotiate with trade shows to optimize Operative?s presence and lead generation (e.g., speaking slot, attendee list, erc.)
Negotiate with hotel properties, AV and other vendors, for Operative branded customer events
Own and maintain event lead goals and map back to quarterly lead generation goals
Analyze event ROI and maintain overall events budget
Grow Operative hosted industry event program and event presence in global markets
Manage and coordinate internal team building and holiday events
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field
5+ years events experience (preferred -- within the publishing and/or technology industry)
Proven ability to manage and execute several events simultaneously
Strong knowledge of all aspects of lead generation initiatives that constitute a cohesive, integrated strategy for each event
Must maintain a highly positive "can-do" attitude under pressure and tight deadlines
Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proven strength in organization, planning and program management with meticulous attention to details and follow-through
High level of flexibility, creativity and innovation
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Salesforce.com
Marketo experience a plus
