The ideal candidate will join the Strategic Marketing team, located at corporate HQ in Redwood Shores, CA. Reporting to the Sr. Director Brand Marketing and Brand Management, the Events Manager is responsible for developing and executing an overall company-wide face-to-face event marketing strategy. This position owns event planning and organizing event-based marketing activities for the company as well as all implementation, execution and analysis of those events. The Event Manager will be expected to align our events program with the overall company and marketing goals.
Functional areas of responsibility include: Corporate Events, Tradeshows, Executive or High-Touch events, Field Event Enablement Tools, and World Wide Sales Kick-Off meeting
Expertise in negotiation of terms and contracts with facilities and service providers to maximize efficiencies and assure compliance with budget and company policies and procedures.
Establish measureable goals and criteria for major event/conference success and track and report on results
Develop and effectively implement project plans, budgets and expense tracking for each event
Manage relationship with event management firm and other service providers
Secure participation of internal and external subject matter experts in events in a professional manner
Implement event best practices and creativity to assure that events are engaging and productive for employees, clients, and prospects
Minimum 5 years of experience, managing all aspects of events (50+% on corporate side; software or security company experience preferred; willingness to travel)
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proven negotiation and project management skills
Strong budgeting experience
Proven skills interacting with executive/senior management teams
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
Ability to see big picture as well as strong attention to detail
Ability to juggle multiple projects through highly effective organizational skills
Familiarity with SalesForce, Eloqua, or similar marketing platforms, preferred
Minimum of a bachelor?s degree in marketing communications, business, communications, or a related field
