We are seeking an exceptional event and marketing programs professional that is self-motivated; highly detail oriented, a creative thinker and proficient in planning, executing and managing all types of events. This role will own all events including, but not limited to, trade shows, webinars and customer/community events. Responsibilities include a variety of projects including event materials creation, event messaging, booth logistics, vendor relations, and budget management and reporting. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
This role requires the ability to think strategically with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to meet individual and company goals. Our events marketing manager will be working across multiple marketing areas - product, PR, community/developer evangelism and also sales and business development. This position will require capturing leads from events, as well as monitoring our event metrics. With exposure to multiple teams, there will be plenty of opportunities to take on new projects.
The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, is well organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. He/she is results-focused with exceptional detail and knowledge around metrics, thrives in a fast-paced environment, with high energy, a responsive attitude, and a desire for success. Effectively partner with cross-functional teams (product management, marketing operations, marketing communications and online marketing) to drive end-to-end campaign execution
Develop and execute webinars, virtual events, email campaigns, and more
Research and qualify domestic and international events where LucidWorks should be present - conferences, tradeshows, hackathons, meetups, workshops and others
Manage all aspects of tradeshow/event coordination including: contract negotiation, accommodations, coordination of registration, audio/visual set-up, staffing, on-site set-up and logistics
Oversee all event deadlines: booth selection, hotel reservations, contract negotiation, logistical planning, and on-site management
Interface with external vendors including suppliers, event venues, audio/visual companies, and exhibit contractors
Maintain a relationship of trust and partnership with our sales organization allowing for a connected sales and marketing mentality
Assist the Marketing team with designing and implementing new initiatives and projects, as necessary
Perform additional functions and administrative tasks as required for other programs within the marketing team during non-event times
This role requires about 15-20% travel (some weekend travel required) and needs to be comfortable being the on-site manager of events.
BA or BS in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience, with 1-3 years working in a startup environment
Successfully planned, organized and executed events - large or small (meetups, parties, outings, conferences, tradeshows, hackathons, etc.) in a fast-paced, multi-event environment in an efficient manner
Substantial budget management experience, including fiscal responsibility for budgets coming in on target
Experience managing vendors in a proactive and thoughtful manner
Excellent organizational abilities, including scheduling, prioritizing, follow-through, and multi-tasking
Ability to flourish in an extremely fast-paced, high-growth environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities
Self-starter who independently manages and carries through on their commitments
Strong team player with a "can-do" approach but can also work independently, make decisions and is not afraid to work without a safety net
Commitment to professionalism and collegiality is required
Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of tasks
Enjoy working in an informal environment with a "start-up" culture
Willingness to work extended hours from time to time to achieve goals set by immediate manager or demanded by key customers
Familiarity with current social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
Working knowledge of Windows-based applications to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
Aptitude and desire to learn how to use new software and marketing tools (marketing automation, webinar hosting platforms, analytics, CRM and more)
Ability to work onsite in our office in Redwood City, CA
You've effectively managed and worked with limited budget constraints. You understand ROI on a conceptual level and know how to effectively apply it towards event organization and involvement.
