Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and execute successful marketing events (PTP events, trade shows, RFA courses) for the calendar year.
Communicate with Physicians/Key Opinion leaders and manage the communication during the Speakers Bureau.
Present product and clinical knowledge during Trade Shows.
Manage cross functional logistics for marketing events (i.e., shipments, return shipments, vendor management).
Analyze, track, maintain and control event costs per determined budget. Identify areas of opportunity regarding cost initiatives.
Execute on strategy developed by marketing leadership, and gather input from other departments (i.e. sales, clinical, etc.) for national and global events.
Assess and identify Pre, Post, Promotional, Onsite, Tracking, Budget, and ROI Analysis successfully for all marketing events (trade shows, RFA courses, PTPs) throughout the year.
Communicate all upcoming events and any pertinent details to management, attendees, physicians (as applicable), sales reps, and any other key stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have:
3-5 years event management experience, preferably in the healthcare field.
Strong ability to multi-task, giving each show the level of depth it requires, but balancing that against a high volume event workload.
Effective communicator able to speak and write well and accurately, as role requires heavy phone and written communications both within and external to Covidien.
Able to meet rigorous deadlines and work well under pressure.
Enthusiasm to work in a start-up environment - energetic self-starter with an abundance of initiative, passion for their work and readiness to dive deep quickly.
Strong analytical, project management and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office systems. Salesforce.com a definite plus.
Ability to speak English, with multilingual capability a definite plus (for international program management).
Other Qualifications:
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong skills with all Microsoft Office applications
Beginner or intermediate skills in Salesforce.com a definite plus.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all functional areas
Ability to multi-task, must enjoy working in a fast paced environment
Can work independently
Able to work with a sense of urgency and pace consistent with a start up
-Travel of 20-30% is expected.
EDUCATION:
Education Requirements:
Business or marketing undergraduate degree.
EXPERIENCE (please note required or Preferred):
Experience Requirements:
3-5 years experience in event management, preferably within the healthcare industry. International event management experience a plus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Usual office environment with frequent- sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, stooping and occasional- climbing.
Frequent- use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery.
Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally- and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
-Occasional: Activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.
-Frequent: Activity exists between 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.
