Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: AEGR) is an emerging biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel therapeutics to treat severe lipid disorders. The Company?s lead product, lomitapide, is in Phase III clinical development. Lomitapide is initially being developed to treat patients with a rare genetic lipid disorder called homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, or HoFH. The Company also plans to initiate a clinical program for lomitapide to treat patients with a severe genetic form of hypertriglyceridemia called familial chylomicronemia (FC).
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Provides executive level administrative support to executive officers which will often involve contact and exposure to highly confidential materials and information. Daily activities require thorough knowledge of company operations, policies and procedures. Involves handling details of a highly confidential and critical nature, and collecting and preparing information for use in discussions/meetings of executive staff and outside individuals. May prepare presentation materials for board of director meetings, and make high-level contacts. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Requires experience working with senior-level executives within and outside the company, customers, vendors, visitors and other dignitaries.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES
? Manages complex and global calendars; schedules meetings, makes travel arrangements and manages expense reporting
? Accountable for department meeting planning and organization (schedule attendees, books conference rooms, arrange catering, prepares presentations, compiles notebooks, meeting materials, handouts, etc).
? Provides phone support; assumes responsibility for copying, faxing, and developing and maintaining filing systems; hard copy and/or electronic
? Processes accounts payable invoices and all aspects of expense reporting
? Creates and distributes general correspondence, letters, memos, charts, graphs, contracts, agreements, minutes, spreadsheets reports, and assists in presentation building
? Proactively responds to questions, concerns, and requests for information and resolves routine questions and information requests
? Manages the administrative priorities of senior executives, solves conflicting priorities
? Plays key role in liaising with Executive Assistants and other members of Sr. Staff ; serves as reciprocal back-up for other Senior Administrative Assistants and Executive Assistants as require
? Ad hoc projects, as assigned, including involvement in arrangements for offsite meetings
? Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
? Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
? May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other lower level personnel.
REQUIRED SKILLS
? Bachelor?s degree
? 8-10 years of executive administrative experience
? Must have experience supporting senior level management in a complex global environment; 5+ years preferred
? Extensive and advanced working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
? Experience with expense reporting systems/ software.
? Strong interpersonal skills; position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
? Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization up to and including Board level.
? Confident, self-starter who can work well with minimum supervision
? Requires strong attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, scheduling and meeting deadlines
? Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple competing tasks and demands.
? Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks of a different nature and have the ability to prioritize efficiently.
? Problem solver who is quick to figure solutions and make things happen.
