Merrimack Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company discovering, developing and preparing to commercialize innovative medicines paired with companion diagnostics for the treatment of serious diseases, with an initial focus on cancer. Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has six targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
Our expanding team is seeking an intelligent, proactive, experienced Executive Assistant to join us in our efforts in supporting members of our executive management teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include a wide variety of general administrative duties which include but are not limited to:
Maintaining multiple calendars;
Making travel arrangements and managing itineraries;
Managing and prioritizing internal and external communications (including Email, arranging conference calls, as necessary);
Arranging and providing support for large internal/external meetings including event planning and execution, the distribution of pre and post meeting agendas, programs, presentations/briefing documents, and financial payments/reimbursements;
Cross team coordination - Research, Development, Finance, HR, Facilities, Corporate Communications, Regulatory, IP, Legal, etc.
Expense & Vendor Management
Coordinating of on and off-site meetings as needed;
Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position is someone with unfaltering attention to detail, excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and cross-cultural understanding and sensitivity. Due to the Company?s growing needs, this position requires a high energy, flexible person who can wear many hats, but also knows how to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines. This position involves interaction with global Key Opinion Leaders, prominent researchers & physicians, shareholders, the Senior Leadership team, and employees. Subsequently, the candidate must be dependable, extremely trustworthy, able to handle confidential information, personable and professional. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office?particularly Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel?is essential. Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical is a plus but not required. Strong writing skills are also preferred. The candidate should have a BA/BS or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years related experience.
