We have three main products:
HowAboutWe Dating is the offline dating site. Our members start with the words ?How about we...? then describe the date they?d like to go on (i.e. ?How about we... have dinner at this cool rooftop restaurant I know.?).
HowAboutWe for Couples makes it easy for a couple to have meaningful, shared experiences together, again and again. Each month, members receive a new DateBook ? a curated catalogue of HowAboutWe Dates, hand-picked for their quality and originality ? choose the ones they like? and go.
The Date Report provides engaging, entertaining and enlightening content about dating and relationships. It is the home of all content-oriented initiatives carried out by the HowAboutWe brand.
Who You Are
You are an experienced lifestyle editor with a passion for helping people have wonderful experiences and discover incredible things.
You love ? and know how to craft ? communications that lead to purchases. You have an eye for what makes for an exceptional date or product, where they are and how to craft them, down to every detail. You can manage freelance writers, roll-up your sleeves and write compelling copy, compose emails and work with a sales team to vet an experience and think in terms of visual representation.
You are looking for a new opportunity at an exceptional start-up.
You have
Leadership skills. This role will involve helping to define an editorial voice.
Exceptional writing skills, with an usual ability to walk the line between reporting and merchandizing.
5-10 years of editorial experience.
High expectations. The job is not done until presentation is exceptional.
Mature and inspiring communication skills that can effectively convey an editorial mission to different stakeholders internally and externally. Broadcast experience is a plus.
Fundamental curiosity about the ingredients of a good experience -- the who, what, where, when and why underlying a great date.
A perspective that enjoys thinking about the business value and know that the bottom line is the bottom line ? and that voice is all you have.

The Job
As Date Experiences Editor, you will editorialize the experiences and products we?re offering to our users. You will think in terms of copy and photos, and manage the creation process, which will include working with the sales team to set guidelines and vet opportunities, writing and editing, managing freelance writers and photographers, etc. You will be deeply involved defining the voice for HowAboutWe for Couples, and you will be the guardian of the brand voice, internally and externally.
