The site is the official home of ABC TV?s Recipe Rehab, has relationships with several highly acclaimed chefs and is founded on the premise that no one should ever have to make the choice between healthy and delicious ever again.
Better Eats, a new multi-platform, food-focused media property, is seeking a Executive Editor to lead its vision, voice, creative execution and overall content and product strategy.
As Executive Editor, you will lead the vision, voice, creative execution and overall content strategy for Better Eats. You will direct a team of editors, community managers and social media specialists to bring your vision to life. You will also oversee a team of freelancers, lead the video strategy and work directly with renowned celebrity chefs.
You are a passionate foodie and experienced digital product strategist, who realizes there?s a better way to help today?s women make smart food choices for themselves and their families. It?s never been easier for people to get their hands on fresh ingredients and you want to show moms that they don?t need to make a choice between healthy and delicious. You know they can have both, regardless of budget or cooking skills.
While you have deep understanding of editorial, product development, mobile platforms, video production, branding and SEO, you?re an innovator at heart and are constantly testing new ways to create, present and distribute content and product features.
Responsibilities:
Setting the overall strategy and driving the business to audience and revenue goals.
Establishing and owning the voice, tone, values and mission of the brand.
Creating a product roadmap, editorial calendar and content strategy inclusive of articles, social media, video, personalized tools, etc. across web and mobile
Recruiting and managing a team of skilled editors, nutritionists, social media stars and freelancers.
Identifying, recruiting and managing relationships with celebrity chefs, nutritionists and other high-profile talent
Evaluating and integrating content partnerships to ensure Better Eats has world-class content, recipes, meal plans consistent with the site mission
Developing and overseeing syndication partnerships and content aggregation strategies.
Establishing priorities, allocating resources and being the ultimate decision maker
Developing and overseeing effective community and social initiatives on and off of Better Eats
Working collaboratively with product, technology, design, video production and project management to create engaging consumer experiences
Working with PR, marketing and sales to drive audience, trade awareness and sponsorship revenue
Qualifications:
8-10 years of experience managing content strategies for dynamic online properties
Background in consumer food programming -- women?s lifestyle and health programming a plus
2-4 years of leading social media and community strategies
Thorough understanding of analytics
A proven track record of building a large and engaged audience
Understanding of web-based product development, mobile platforms, social media and online video
Strong relationship, collaboration, instincts and judgment
Ability to manage a budget and drive sales initiatives
Strong research, organizational, writing, and communication skills
Creative problem solver who inspires others
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
