Experienced Product Designer - Software Solutions GenoLogics Life Sciences Software Inc.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Product Definition and Document Manager, the Product Designer, will define and document solutions collaboratively with product managers, product owners, subject matter experts and software developers to enable new pre-configured applications supporting partners instruments and software.

The Product Designer will create and champion delightful new product applications utilizing existing design patterns and platform capabilities seamlessly with creative new components and elements. Requirements



Must Have

Proven experience of ability to work with product managers, product owners, and subject matter experts to synthesize requirement definitions that faithfully capture goals and intent.
Proven experience in working collaboratively with software developers as an active participant in an agile scrum team. A sufficiently demonstrable understanding of the nuts and bolts of software development as to be credibly collaborative with a software development team.
Proven experience to understand and balance technical, business and user considerations in a way that ensures the final product is viable from a business point of view and delights users.
Proven ability to take a solution design and document it in a form that is clear, concise and consumable to various target audiences. This includes granular user stories and ideal experience scenario narratives (e.g. storyboards) for developers, creating sketched framework views and flows to relay experience, and high-level characterizations of capability for secondary stakeholders.
A passion for order, detail and thoroughness that would cause you to be teased in most normal life circumstances; along with the pragmatism and wisdom of treating this passion as a personal tool and not a requirement for others to meet.
Proven ability to learn and understand a new domain at a level necessary to interact with subject matter experts and customers for the purposes of defining and documenting software solutions.

Strongly Desired

UX and goal based design experience and training (more UX synthesizer than UX generator in this role) - sufficient to be able to frame all requirements and user stories representing the end users critical experience.
Proven experience in business analysis and requirements gathering.
Demonstrated experience working an Agile Scrum methodology environment.
Demonstrated experience with goal-directed design (Cooper/Goodwin approach).

Nice to Have

Lab science domain experience.
