PatientsLikeMe is an exciting company in the social health space that is building a data-oriented patient community. We are looking for experienced Ruby on Rails Developers who want to work on a product that makes a difference in patients' lives.

As an application developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing the application layer of code. Not only should you enjoy writing well organized, highly tested code, but you should also enjoy working with stakeholders to help design solutions.

Your responsibilities:
- Support application functionality by writing scalable, well-factored, well-tested application code
- Work with support teams to find and fix application bugs
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop design solutions

Requirements:
- 7+ years experience developing web applications
- 1+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
- 2+ years of experience with JavaScript and one or more UI libraries like jQuery, Prototype, YUI, etc.
- Good test-writing skills
- Database proficiency (schema design and queries)
- CSS & HTML proficiency
- Experience with Git or other version control system
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Willingness to work in Haml and Sass

Desirable:
- Experience with medical systems, social networks and data visualization.
- Experience working with IE (6, 7, 8), Firefox and Safari
- Linux, OS X experience
- Team player. Pirates, ninjas and rock stars need not apply.
- Experience with Rock Band, darts, or table tennis a plus.
