The Opportunity
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the CBR Tucson facility and our once in a lifetime client samples by performing or arranging for and supervising all building maintenance/repair.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, orderly facility and conduct regular building/equipment inspections.
Manage/perform all maintenance, service, and repairs in the areas of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, plastering, ground maintenance, and machine servicing for the facility.
Coordinate, oversee, and direct maintenance contractors engaged in equipment installation/repair, preventive maintenance, etc.
Monitor construction and installation progress to ensure quality and conformance to established specifications.
Collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure that all work and any related issues are completed/addressed timely.
Respond quickly to emergency situations and perform tasks that are in the best interest of CBR and the facility/property.
Document and maintain associated files for all facility maintenance.
Work closely with the Operations Manager and key stakeholders to complete special projects that may be limited in duration, but identified as critical to the facility.
Work with teams and individuals on facility improvement/projects and, when appropriate, recommend alternative methods or solutions.
Formulate and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure that the building and applicable systems/equipment meet or exceed rated life.
Investigate and implement energy and cost saving measures.
Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of implemented facility changes to key stakeholders.
Create/maintain facility related reports and present to the lab management team.
Plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
Perform audits to support facility planning and evaluate use of space.
Oversee the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
Act as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
Co-author/author facility related policies, processes, and procedures.
Document review and approval, as applicable to the facilities scope.
Stay current on upcoming operational, regulatory, and system changes at CBR Tucson and determine the impact on facilities.
Education and Training
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements
Ability to read and interpret documents such as building plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule or spoken form.
Ability to involve co-workers, managers and direct reports in important decision-making processes.
Must be able to travel (minimal), between Tucson and San Bruno sites.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
