SAGE is currently seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of the SAGE facilities.
Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform the day-to-day maintenance and necessary tasks to sustain and improve the SAGE facilities. Responsibilities include inspection, preventive/predictive maintenance, equipment and building repair, and general building systems upkeep. The individual will maintain all aspects of the SAGE facilities including cleaning, grounds maintenance, HVAC and utility systems. The role will be hands on and will require excellent attention to detail to ensure the facilities are maintained to a high level of cleanliness and equipment uptime.
Responsibilities:
Perform all job requirements in a safe manner and adhere to all SAGE safety rules and policies. Perform necessary safety and environmental training in regards to facilities and facilities equipment (i.e. recycling, forklifts, fire alarms, severe weather, etc...)
Perform facilities maintenance duties including inspection, preventive/predictive maintenance, equipment or building repair, and general building systems upkeep. The individual will maintain all aspects of the SAGE facilities including cleaning, trash disposal, recycling, bathrooms maintenance, grounds maintenance, cleanrooms, HVAC, ducting, air and water filters, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors & dryers, high purity water (RO/DI), inert gas, vacuum, chemical treatment systems, plumbing, process piping & pumping, exhaust fans, and other building systems.
Perform and lead the cleaning efforts of the SAGE facilities to semi-conductor facility standards. Support the organization, 5S, and cleaning of all SAGE offices, R&D, manufacturing, and warehouse areas.
Perform and lead the outside grounds maintenance (lawn/shrub/tree care, sidewalks, parking lots, snow removal). Perform other miscellaneous outside tasks such as tree watering, weed whipping, sidewalk/patio cleaning, exterior building cleaning, gas grill cleaning, rodent & pest control, etc..
Perform duties including plumbing, welding, sheet metal work, carpentry, painting, caulking and sealing, window cleaning, and like tasks as assigned.
Maintain accurate records in the CMMS with regard to inspections and preventative /predictive maintenance.
Maintain an accurate inventory in the CMMS of facilities equipment, spare parts, and consumables to ensure proper maintenance and repairs.
Assist with implementation of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to facilities maintenance programs.
Assist in mechanical maintenance of process equipment as assigned.
Perform non-scheduled or emergency maintenance when required (including nights and weekends) to support operations.
Perform other tasks as required to support production of SageGlass. Perform all other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities Director.
Required Skills:
Strong mechanical and building maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
Strong problem solving, decision making, and attention to detail skills.
Knowledge and skills with maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, ducting, filters, air compressors & dryers, high purity water (RO/DI) systems, inert gas systems, vacuum systems, chemical treatment systems, plumbing, process piping & pumping systems, exhaust fans, and building systems.
Knowledge and skills with maintaining and troubleshooting cleanroom systems and cleanroom maintenance.
Proficient with computers and programs such as MS Word, Excel, and email.
Ability to operate large van trucks, cranes, forklifts, scissors lifts, lawn care equipment, snow removal equipment, and cleaning equipment.
Position requires a valid driver?s license and with a good driving record to operate motor vehicles with both types of transmission (automatic or standard).
Prior experience with Emaint or another Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Ability to read, comprehend and work from technical documents, blueprints and electrical schematics.
Ability to work safely in a demanding and urgent work environment. In critical situations, the ability to be flexible with work hours and assignments. Proven record of working well with others and cultivating a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting - Frequently lifts light weight items, and occasionally lifts heavy weight materials such as equipment parts, box of filters, bags of salt, etc...
Bending/Twisting - Frequent bending and twisting to work on equipment and to pick up parts or materials.
Walking - Continuous walking throughout facility as well as to and from maintenance shop and material storage areas.
Climbing - Occasional climbing of stairs and various types of ladders.
Reaching - Occasional reaching to operate tools and to work on equipment.
Pulling/Pushing - Occasional pulling and pushing to move, position, and align tools and equipment.
Standing - Continuously on feet, but normally not in any one position.
Manual Dexterity - Dexterity required to operate tools and to do equipment repairs.
Vision - Must be able to visually observe the operation and repair of machines and equipment and be able to move safely about the plant. Also prepares records and reads instruments.
Hearing - Must be able to hear emergency alarm systems, equipment alarms, and communicate with job-related personnel.
Must be able to climb and balance oneself on a ladder, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl into tight places as required.
Education & Experience:
A 2 year degree in equipment maintenance, machine shop, or mechanical related degree.
Minimum 4 years of building, HVAC, and mechanical utilities maintenance experience.
