HelioVolt, a thin film solar modules manufacturing company focused on making high-performance, low-cost modules that provide superior diffused light performance and high energy yield, is seeking a Facilities Manager to work in its south Austin facility.
As the head of the Facilities Team, the Facilities Manager?s primary responsibility is to monitor and maintain facilities systems to ensure maximum uptime for manufacturing operations and to maintain a comfortable, distraction-free office environment conducive to productivity. This position is also responsible for the installation, removal and relocation of equipment within the manufacturing facility in a safe and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of IBC, IFC, UMC, UPC and experience in dealing with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
? Maintain facilities systems and equipment in a manner that provides the lowest level of interruption to manufacturing operations and internal customers
? Maintain a safe, clean, and well organized work environment
? Provide urgent response in the event of system or component failure
? Manage systems? operations to minimize energy and material consumption without compromising system reliability or factory operations.
? Provide direct supervision to facilities technicians and operators
? Gather information and plan installation of new equipment, removal of old equipment and relocation of existing equipment. This includes producing documentation for contractor bid review or submission to local AHJs for review and approval.
? Construction project management for installation of new equipment, removal of old equipment and relocation of existing equipment
? Continuous improvement initiatives (such as 5S) in facility planning
? Maintain a positive attitude that seeks to provide low-cost, proactive solutions to potential problems, rather than expensive reactive solutions to problems after they have occurred
? B.S. in Mechanical (preferred), Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
? 5-7 years of facilities engineering experience in a high technology environment
? Software proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project
? Experience with HVAC (packaged and chilled water units), reverse osmosis and de-ionized water production, waste water treatment, bulk gas systems, bottle gas delivery, compressed air systems, and corrosive exhaust systems
? Experience with FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)
? Able to respond to and resolve facility requests 24/7
? Master?s Degree Experience in building energy management
? Past Supervisory Experience
