The Facilities Manager is responsible for maximizing the productivity and efficiencies of all real estate owned or leased by the organization. The Facilities Manager works with senior management to represent the company?s broad interests in real estate matters ranging from acquisition, leasing, subleasing, disposition and management.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for all of the services that support the physical space occupied by the organization. The Facilities Manager ensures the functionality of the environment to meet the needs of personnel. This includes property management, relocation services, health, safety, utilities, and services. The Facilities Manager employs white-glove service at every opportunity to coordinate space allocation, use, communication and facility expansion.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
financial forecasting/budgeting for all direct and indirect occupancy costs
strategic planning for the organization?s current and future space needs
project planning and management
overseeing and managing building work/renovation
working with stakeholders to allocate and manage space within buildings
coordinating security and general administrative services
procuring office furniture and equipment
overseeing a distributed team of office assistants and office managers
ensuring that assistants and managers stock and maintain kitchens and break rooms, while maintaining 9am-5pm reception desk coverage
2U currently has offices in six cities -- Landover MD; New York NY; Los Angeles CA; Chapel Hill NC; St. Louis MO; and Hong Kong. Experience successfully managing remote offices with a high level of customer (employee) service and clear, ongoing communication is a critical attribute. Some travel required.
Things That Should Be in Your Background:
Bachelor?s degree required
5 years? experience directly related to office and facilities management for multi-location organizations
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong customer service background
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
