We are seeking a highly motivated hands on Facilities Manager. The successful candidate will have broad experience with maintaining a life sciences facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with property management company to manage the maintenance and repair of building systems and infrastructure by generating online work requests.
Schedule and coordinate the activities of all contractors ensuring minimum disruption to business activities.
Manage building services and their vendors, including document shredding, janitorial, waste-management (hazardous, bio-hazardous and non-hazardous), recycling, and storage.
Collect biological and hazardous waste on a daily basis from labs and store in waste storage. Coordinate with waste hauler for pickup. Should be familiar with state reporting documents and waste manifests.
Monitor, drive to completion, and escalate as needed all user facilities requests.
Track office space use, generate monthly facilities allocation reports to Finance and assign cube/office space as needed.
Perform space assessments and enable future facilities planning.
Inspect compressed gas cylinders on a daily basis. Order and receive as required.
Support annual facilities budgeting process.
Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal environmental and fire regulations.
Promote a safety minded culture.
Conduct lab safety inspections and coordinate safety training with EH&S consultant as needed.
Develop and maintain safety protocols and documentation.
Maintain inventory and calibration of designated equipment.
BS in Engineering Related Discipline or significant relevant work experience required
Experience with Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) and OSHA regulations
Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
Thorough and detailed-oriented, with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Motivated, independent and able to take ownership of all areas of responsibility.
Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Construction or relocation project management helpful.
