Position: Facility and Equipment Maintenance Technician/Engineer

Position Description:
We are currently looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician or Engineer for our thin-film coating operations.
Maintenance Technicians perform scheduled and preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and repair on
various deposition chambers, polishing equipment, facilities HVAC and hydronics and related sub systems on a
multi-shift basis.
Specific job responsibilities include:
Support the thin-film coating operation with both equipment and process expertise;
Real-time troubleshooting of coating issues as well as off-line projects;
Follow Policies, Procedures and Core Values.
Follow the Production Planning schedule to assure that coater maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
Be open to working various shift for maintenance support of a 24/7 operation.
Identify Coater, Sub System Equipment that is in need of repair, obtain repair quotes from outside suppliers and
assure that repairs are made and equipment returned in a timely manner as not to adversely affect coater utilization.
Support Sub System Component and Equipment re-build and repair internally in accordance with internal training
certifications.
Assist Engineering with coater set-up for their experiments as well as returning coaters to production readiness.
Communicate the status of activities and equipment status to fellow maintenance and coating teams on a regular
basis.
Develop, implement, and monitor programs intended to increase the uptime of assets.
- Such programs include but are not limited to: Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and
FMEA/MTBF programs.
Conduct analysis and investigations based in Failure Mode Analysis & Root Cause Analysis on equipment failures
that significantly affect product quality, equipment uptime and plant capacity. Report conclusions to management
and make recommendations for improved programs and practices intended to prevent similar failures
Background and Qualifications:
Success in this position requires the applicant to have:
Ten (10) years of hands-on and safe experience in electrical-mechanical equipment maintenance in a
manufacturing environment at the Sr. Technician Level with a minimum of two (2) years leading a small group of
technical support personnel or five (5) years at the engineer level. Experience with vacuum systems and coating
equipment, Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS) Coaters preferred.
Direct experience with trouble shooting and repair of ion sources and electron guns;
Direct experience with the handling, processing, and cleaning of optical-quality glass substrates and coatings;
Formal electronics and vacuum training desirable;
Experience with facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, and chilled-water systems required;
Must be self motivated with a positive attitude, constructive with others, analytical, experienced in data driven
troubleshooting, able to influence people to succeed using their knowledge, experiences and practical judgment, and
have a strong work ethic in providing support to a multi-shift work team is essential. AT Films-PPC/IDEX Corporation Confidential

Can effectively work with schematics, equipment manuals and other technical documentation. Trade training (e.g.
Electrical, Vacuum) and certificates of training are desirable.
Technical Team Leadership training is desirable.
Computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite products. Data Base set-up and usage experience is a requirement.
Must be willing and able to work flexible shift hours including potentially nights, weekends or
overtime.

Physical Demands and Practices:
Lifting up to 35 lbs.
Standing for long periods of time, stooping and bending over.
Requires clean room gowning to conduct activities.
Requires safe, glass handling practices
