Summary:
The Facility Technician works in partnership with the Senior Management team. This position requires a multi-tasking individual who is detail-oriented, able to work calmly under pressure, and enthusiastically provides exceptional customer service. The Facility Technician serves in the capacity of on-site helpdesk support, liaison for suppliers, special projects such as the facility disaster recovery plan (BCP), annual key inventory, and commodity management (Office Supplies, Toner, Coffee/Tea).
Job Duties
Maintain paper and toner for all devices that require it (printers, fax machines, copiers, etc.)
Provide desktop support to users (answer questions about Microsoft office products, Internet Explorer, map printers, etc.)
Perform basic desktop troubleshooting before escalating (if needed)
Perform basic phone troubleshooting before escalating (if needed)
Setup new workstations (PC / Wyse terminal and phone) when needed
Perform weekly backup tape rotation
Perform tasks delegated from corporate IT
Know when to escalate an issue to corporate IT
Act as a liaison with building management, maintenance, janitorial service and all other vendors
Manage daily work requests
Assists with PC repair and telephony/network outages
Tier 1 IT helpdesk support
Responsible for all ordering and organizing all supplies including, furniture, office supplies, PCs, peripherals, etc?
Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed and communicated with the call center. Arrange fire drills and train staff on their responsibilities
Manage the issuing and tracking of access cards, keys and parking validations
Help with new hire on boarding: set up new hire space, provide all necessary equipment and system access
Participate in Disaster Recovery drills and business continuity planning
Assists team in continuing to build a positive culture through periodic special events
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in a computer related degree plan required; Bachelor?s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Minimum of 1 year facilities experience with emphasis on business services
Able to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations
Strong customer service skills required
Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
Creative problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task, organize, and establish priorities
Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility
Experience working with outside vendors, accounts payable/receivable, and budget management required
Basic IT helpdesk and trouble shooting experience
Commitment to hands-on, team oriented management
Proficiency using the Internet and Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
