JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conducting product and process investigations in support of field complaints, regulatory agency inquiries and other requests. This includes:
Leading and managing all failure analysis and customer complaint investigation activities
Conducting investigations to document product or system failures and driving root cause determination and completion of 8D reports
Creating and distributing investigation and other reports to all relevant groups
Assuring the product manager is consulted on failure modes or other elements of risk
Supporting RMA and other complaint investigations
Constantly assessing the investigation and reporting process for opportunities for improvement. Driving improvement opportunities with management and affected departments. Drive continuous improvements through corrective action plans that result from RMA's and customer complaints.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities of the applicant will be to perform failure cause isolation, test diagnostics and physical failure analysis using both conventional and advanced analytical instruments and techniques. The analyst will lead or support the development of product analysis capability and participate in advanced tool related characterization and development projects. Applicants must have experience and demonstrated technical expertise in physical failure analysis based on parametric data, diagnostics and root cause isolation. Functional knowledge of LED device physics, advanced LED manufacturing processes, circuit analysis, advanced surface analysis analytical techniques are also required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead and organize projects are essential.
Failure analysis and debug of LED Emitter and lamp products
New product debug
Customer return and test failure analysis to root cause
Physical analysis of packaged LED's
Perform probing and advanced system analysis to determine area of failure
Electrical testing and analysis using curve tracer, bench top test and ATE
Evaluation of devices/die for yield enhancement and corrective action
Customer and internal report generation - must have excellent written and verbal skill
Outside FA LAB coordination and analysis
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
BS degree plus 8 years experience in semiconductor/LED FA environment
Have good understanding of advanced LED devices assembly processes
Working experience with device and package failure analysis to root cause
Knowledge of Failure Analysis techniques, methods and laboratory use
