Based in the US out of the Metro DC area Proofpoint is looking for a self-starting, responsible, mature, highly motivated Archiving and eDiscovery Regional Sales Manager covering Proofpoint?s fastest growing product line. The role will demand interaction with all 93 Federal agencies agencies at senior levels, experience selling to archiving to multiple constituents including IT, legal, security, and compliance. Responsibilities include developing the Federal archiving go-to-market, relentless prospecting, working with Federal Field Sales Managers to execute the go-to-market, and work with partners/Federal Systems Integrators to maximize pipeline and value. The successful candidate will possess an understanding of the Federal procurement process. Have the ability to confidently articulate the Proofpoint value prop, build relationships, develop a strong pipeline and be able to accurately forecast and close business.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and Lead Proofpoint?s Federal Archiving & eDiscovery strategy
Focus on increasing market share for Proofpoint products in Federal market
Plan, coordinate, and deliver in-person and web-based solution overviews and product demos
Work closely with Proofpoint?s Federal sales team to identify and qualify strategic sales prospects
Convert prospects into sales by differentiating from the competition
Work with System Engineers to prepare account strategies and plans
Partner with the channel & FSI?s to drive incremental revenue/value
Prepare activity and forecast reports as requested
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Proofpoint?s competitive positioning in the marketplace
Meet or exceed revenue quota
Requirements:
Experience selling archiving, eDiscovery, or related solution areas, an ideally Cloud/SaaS-based solutions to the Federal government
Current relationships in one of the following; Veterans Administration, GSA, DISA, Army, DHS & the SI?s.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Hosted Exchange and Exchange
Knowledge of FedRAMP certification
Existing Federal rolodex is preferred
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively articulate Proofpoint?s value
Must be organized, detail and process oriented
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks and use good judgment in resolving difficult issues
Ability to coordinate Proofpoint resources to execute a complex sales strategy
BA/BS or equivalent preferred
5+ years successful field sales experience in related field
Experience selling to IT departments and IT management is preferred
Approximately 50% travel
