| Description: | Job Description : Lombardi is looking for a motivated Solutions Engineer to add to its federal sales team. Solutions Engineers bridge the gap between business and IT in sales cycles. Solutions Engineers understand the solution the customer is envisioning (business goals, technical requirements, architecture), determine if and how Lombardis offering (products, services, methodology, and best-practices) provides this solution, and present this solution to both business and IT audiences through presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts. Solutions Engineers are consultative leaders, who help customers understand why Lombardi and its offering are a fit for solving their business problem. While evangelizing Lombardis offerings and building vision are important parts of the Solutions Engineer job, Solutions Engineers are fundamentally hands-on. Solution Engineers are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and design and implement solutions in short timeframes. Understanding and loving this type of work is critical to success. Responsibilities: - Team with Lombardi senior account executives, product managers, product marketers, and executives to develop strategy and execute tactics needed to help prospects understand the value of Lombardis offerings for their project or enterprise. - Develop and deliver product / solution presentations and demonstrations (often customer-specific), to both business-oriented audiences as well as highly technical audiences on a corporate basis. - Lead implementation and demonstration of detailed technical product proof points in competitive product evaluations (bake-offs), solution presentations, and proofs of concept (POCs). - Provide detailed technical product expertise to support deep dive evaluations of Lombardis products and their architecture, by both enterprise architects, application developers, and operations staff. - Help customers understand differentiation and benefit of TeamWorks' solutions over home-grown or other commercial alternatives. - Assist senior account executives throughout each sales cycle in answering customer questions and removing concerns. Job Requirements : - Top secret, full polygraph clearance required - Proven experience in producing and presenting either proofs of concepts or consulting deliverables for customers. - Practical hands-on experience with J2EE, database, and web development projects. - JavaScript, JSP, HTML, XML, XSLT, and SQL development skills are essential. - Working experience with one or more of the following platform products: o OS: Windows, Unix o J2EE App Servers: BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, JBoss o DB: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2 - Excellent customer interaction skills. - Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills. - Ability to handle impromptu analyses and discussion with prospects, and creatively discuss technical solutions to business problems. - Java development experience is a plus. - Application integration with ERP, EAI, CRM vendor products is a plus. |
