FERMENTATION GRADUATE INTERN Cobalt Biofuels

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and experience with fermentation kinetic modeling at population and metabolic network levels with good understanding of biofuel/biochemical processes. The candidate will be a key contributor to a dynamic and flexible team responsible for development, optimization, and scale-up of Cobalt's fermentation technology.
Formulate and develop structured/un-structured in-silico fermentation kinetic models for bio-butanol production using clostridium species.
Perform data fitting, steady and un-steady state analysis to interpret experimental results
Perform parametric analysis to direct design of experiments and to identify targets for improvement.
Experience with development of fermentation kinetic models for biofuel/biochemical processes
Proficiency with MATLAB and other related mathematical modeling softwares
Experience with metabolic flux balance analysis is a plus
Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
Ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Passion for science and enthusiasm for renewable chemicals
Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Excellent organization and communication skills
Degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related discipline
Current enrollment in a PhD program in chemical/biochemical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years progress towards completion.
