Fermentation Laboratory Technician Coskata

Location: Warrenville, Illinois.
Position Purpose:
Technician position in fermentation lab has the responsibility of maintaining fermenters, related equipment and the general laboratory area. Technician will assist staff scientists and engineers in day-to-day operations in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
Position Accountabilities:
Daily sample taking and measurement, fermenter preparation, sterilization, operation, maintenance and cleaning, media and stock solution preparation
Use of analytical instrumentation including pH meters, spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs, HPLCs, microscopes
Position Qualifications:
Candidate should have proficiency in aseptic technique. Anaerobic technique is also preferred
Good comprehension of Microsoft Office.
College science courses including general chemistry, biology, microbiology, biochemistry desired.
Research experience, specifically with fermentation is preferred but not required.
An Associate?s degree in biology, biochemistry or chemistry with 0-5 years? experience.
