Field Application Engineer - Software Specialist Calxeda, Inc.

This position will be located in Texas or California. The Software Specialist Field Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting Calxeda's OEM partners and their End User's tuning and scaling of Data Center workloads to maximize the performance of Calxeda based solutions. Reporting to the Director of WW FAEs, you will deliver world class technical support to your OEM or Data Center customers while also being the customer advocate within Calxeda. This person must have a proven track record of writing and tuning LAMP stack based workloads. Prior technical experience with Data Center Technology (server hardware and / or software) preferred.Responsibilities:
--Assist Calxeda's OEMs and / or End User customers with optimizing their workloads to maximize the value of the OEMs Calxeda Server Design.
--Understand and identify the customers' key technical and market strategies and ensure Calxeda has a comprehensive solution plan to address them.
--Build relationships across the customers' organizations to ensure preference for Calxeda technology.
--Manage the day-to-day technical activities at the customer and provide strategic feedback to Calxeda senior management.
--Provide Tier 1 triage of technical issues. Provide clear documented summaries to Calxeda engineering through problem closure.
Education/Qualifications:
--5+ years of Linux-based development and expert level knowledge of Linux internals and Server Systems. Expert knowledge of LAMP stack architecture and programing models.
--Excellent C/C++ Scripting Language skills.
--Excellent knowledge of OO architecture and design in Java.
--Detailed understanding of the customer engagement process.
--Data Center Architecture (Hardware and Software) knowledge preferred.
--Excellent communication and presentation skills.
--Self-starter, highly motivated and able to work in a remote office environment.
--BSEE / BSCS/MSEE or equivalent technical background is required.
