Field Application Engineer RGB Networks

Individual will be responsible for all field activities associated with the deployment and technical support of products within key customer accounts, with primary responsibilities at accounts located in Denver. Responsibilities include pre- and post-sales support, application engineering, development of processes for field product support, on-site training, and assisting Marketing in developing product requirements. Requires extensive customer exposure and travel.
Responsibilities include:
Applicant will be designing digital and IP video networks for RGB customers, with applications including management of service bandwidth, transcoding, multiscreen video delivery, transrating, ad insertion, QAM management and digital to analog conversion
Applicant will be working directly with customers in partnership with associated Sales Directors
Applicant will have primary responsibilities in the Denver area at customer locations five days a week, but would be expected to travel to customer sites throughout North America when required. Activities at customer locations include installation and integration of RGB products with other vendor equipment, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise
Applicant will be expected to fully document all customer technical activities and may be asked to generate technical product documentation via Visio
Applicant will be expected to provide product feedback to the Product Management and Engineering teams
Applicant may be required to train customers on RGB products
Requirements include:
Minimum of a college degree or equivalent
Strong knowledge and field experience with the following: MPEG-2, MPEG-2 transport streams, AVC/H.246/MPEG-4 and video data networking
Previous experience in the cable or telco video industry strongly preferred
Previous experience working for a cable or telco operator is a plus
Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, well organized, attention to detail
Candidate will be working directly with customers, requiring excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as a professional appearance
Flexibility and dedication to work extra hours as required
A good driving record
Must be willing to travel at least 60% or more of the time (while uncommon, this may include some weekend travel); reasonable time at home will be rotated with multiple weeks of travel
Previous experience with business travel is preferred
Knowledge of RF, cable RF and analog video is a plus
