Description:
This new position is highly technical, providing product implementation, support and training of sales personnel, distributors, and customers at all levels of the laboratories on Quidel, SPG and DHI products to include new molecular and instrumentation products as well as other assays as may be developed by the Company. In addition, this position troubleshoots customer concerns and facilitates resolution of customer problems. ? Works with Quidel Account Managers, distributors, and customers to schedule training time, validation time, and to qualify laboratories for appropriate and necessary equipment and materials. Organizes test materials, validation materials, and personnel requirements at Company and/or client sites prior to site visit. Works to resolve deficiencies prior to validation and training. ? Troubleshoots customer concerns and product issues. Works with customer to set up site visit to address product concerns complex in nature. Communicates any product complaints to Technical Support for documentation in BaaN. ? Assists Sales team in influencing customers through education and product demonstrations. Along with Quidel Account Managers, closes business. Provides frequent demonstrations of products in a laboratory environment following all lab protocols. Supports national and regional meetings, trade shows, and other appropriate venues for demonstration of Quidel, SPG and DHI products. ? Defines testing requirements within the laboratory. Performs assays accurately in laboratory settings. ? Analyzes qualification data and technical site visits, and information from customer user groups within an account, and reports as required. ? Develops technical training materials (documents, protocols, evaluation tools, job aids, etc.) for use with distributors or at customer sites. Presents and teaches others how to present products professionally, answers unmet customer needs, displaces competitive products, and introduces new products as developed by the Company.
Requirements:
? B.S./B.A. in Life Sciences, or equivalent experience. ? Experience in technical training role, preferably in the medical device/diagnostic market ? Clinical Molecular Laboratory experience is required. ? Clinical Microbiology/Virology Laboratory experience preferred. ? Registration(s) as a medical technologist or equivalent is preferred. ? Strong technical skills regarding principles of product technology and disease processes as they relate to our products. ? Excellent presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts in a clear concise and thoughtful manner. ? Excellent communication (speaking and listening) and interpersonal skills. ? High degree of ethics and professionalism while interacting with customers, vendors, and co-workers. ? Good understanding of computer skills. Must be able to quickly learn new programs and/or modifications to the existing system. ? Excellent organizational/time management skills. ? Excellent follow up skills. ? Attention to detail. ?
