Field Application Specialist - Digital PCR RainDance Technologies
Job Description
The Field Applications Specialist?s (FAS) primary responsibilities will be to represent RainDance?s technology and breadth of applications enabled by our platform to our customers. FAS will utilize many forums to deliver the RainDance message; web, print, seminars, training events, lab based outcomes, one-on-one engagements, and speaking opportunities. The Field Application Specialist role requires exceptional technical expertise and personal gravitas.
We are looking for someone with the proven ability to engage customers at the highest levels of science to represent the technical capabilities of the RainDance core technology and our commercially released applications. The objectives of these engagements are to educate and motivate the customer so that they adopt our technology for their research. We are looking for someone who can provide input into the company?s application development roadmap by synthesizing and prioritizing the voice of the customer. We are also looking for someone with a proven ability to deliver excellence in customer support.
This position requires extensive customer interaction; therefore strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required.
This person will be located in the Western United States.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Field Application Specialist responsibilities, include:
Educate customers on the capabilities of the RainDance technology and the commercially released applications
Provide technical support to the RainDance customer base to ensure success with our commercial applications
Provide detailed application and product feedback to internal teams at RainDance
Serve as an internal advocate within RainDance for the customer
Maintain the highest level of integrity with all customer interactions
Demonstrated excellence in the development and delivery of technical presentations, scientific discussions and product demonstrations
Ability to synthesis ?Voice of the customer? related to existing and potential applications
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years experience in Field Applications, Technical Support, or equivalent experience, with strong scientific background
Strong customer relationship skills are a must
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Team-oriented contributor
Strong experience working in a laboratory environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsFluent in written and verbal English
Nucleic Acid Analysis, or Cell Biology sorting & screening workingexperience is preferred
Demonstrated understanding of commonly-used data analysis software applications preferred
Ability to identify and solve problems effectively
Able to anticipate and diffuse critical/potentially volatile customer situations
Strong understanding of multi-cultural communication styles
Experience in a rapidly growing organization a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment including flexibility around schedule and function
Self-directed with strong initiative
Demonstrated success in identifying and improving key company processes
MS degree/ PhD in life sciences or equivalent
Must be available up to 50% travel that may include over-night staysTravel will be a significant part of this job
