Primary Responsibilities:
The role of the Field Application Engineer requires direct interface with the customer's engineering and technical staff to assist the sales team in securing NetLogic processor design wins for our customers' embedded systems. Responsibilities include:
Establishing rapport with the customer and become the technical liaison throughout the sales process including pre-sales/post-sales design integration
Supporting the design-in process for NetLogic's Multi-core CPU, Content Inspection, KBP, and PHY processor products
Providing customer with technology overview, product information, sample code, demos, application notes, and training sessions
Championing customer needs and work with internal departments to develop competitive technical solutions
Understanding the competitive landscape and continuously work on differentiating NetLogic solutions and technologies
Ensuring clear and regular external internal reporting and communication
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience with multicore/SoCs in a customer-facing role as a Field Application Engineer, Systems Engineer, or system level Development Engineer for telecommunications, enterprise networking, or network security customers
Ideal candidate should have strong Linux and C programming skills with experience working with MIPS Architecture or other Out-of-Order Executive Processor Architectures
Ability to present to technical audiences and articulate NetLogic technology features and benefits
Track record of personal involvement in understanding customer needs and utilizing technical resources to meet customer requirements
Must have the ability to interface with multiple teams to drive solutions specific for customer applications
Must be self-driven with ability to work proactively without much direction
Board level, interface technology, and GNU tool chain experience desirable
BSEE or BSCE required
