Global Sales & Marketing (GSM) is responsible for amplifying the voices of the customer and of the market for the entire company, and growing the Freescale brand. Additionally, we are tasked with defining market requirements, customer account plans, distribution channel management and driving revenue growth. We communicate the value of Freescale to our customers and prospects. We collaborate closely with all Freescale organizations to develop and deliver cutting-edge technologies, products and solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
We are looking for a Field Applications Engineer who will be responsible for:
Supporting Freescale's embedded microcontroller products, primarily the Kinetis MCU?s, in the Milwaukee/Southern Wisconsin region
Working with the Sales team to drive design wins by positioning Freescale?s products to the customer through presenting technical information, demonstrating evaluation platforms and enablement tools, and assisting the customer in silicon evaluation
Engaging partners as needed to define system solutions addressing customer's total requirements
Providing strong technical expertise during a customer?s new product development to assist moving the customers product to production
Escalating technical issues and coordinating design support for customers, using internal and 3rd-party resources, as necessary
Providing input to Freescale product development teams on product roadmap requirements based on customer needs
Developing and presenting technical training to customers, and other Freescale or Distribution FAE?s
Traveling to customer locations in the region 1 to 2 days per week, with limited travel for training outside the region
BSEE/CE or equivalent with 5 years of hands on embedded design experience
Technical expertise on Freescale processor architectures or like products, and common peripherals like USB, Ethernet, SPI, etc.
Hardware design skills, hardware schematic reviews, and board bring up debug
Experience in developing / testing / verifying customer code, BSP's, and device drivers
Development tool experience with CodeWarrior, or like tools from 3rd parties.
RTOS experience, such as Freescale's MQX, is a plus.
Minimum 3 years experience in a customer facing role directly supporting engineers and technical staff
Must be professional, detailed, customer-oriented, self-driven and able to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet customer needs
