Labcyte?s customers work across a wide spectrum of biology including drug discovery, genomics, proteomics, diagnostics, imaging mass spectrometry.
Labcyte seeks an energetic scientist with automated liquid handling and automation experience and expertise in genomics, proteomics and/or drug discovery applications. This scientist will provide technical product demonstrations and customer support to drive sales and adoption of Labcyte products into existing and new customer accounts.
The Field Applications Scientist will work closely with the sales team to support Labcyte customers before, during and after a sale. The Field Applications Scientist will work with customers to understand their application requirements, demonstrate Labcyte products to meet those requirements, and provide post-sales training and support to ensure customer satisfaction. The Field Applications Scientist will also be expected to identify, evaluate and develop new application opportunities for Labcyte products, document those experiments and present successful results both internally and in posters and presentations at scientific conferences. Application areas of expertise will include:
Genomics applications such as qPCR, gene expression, RNAi, and next-generation sequencing
Cell-based assays and high-content screening
Proteomic applications
High-throughput screening assays for drug discovery
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate, prepare and conduct Labcyte product demonstrations at customer sites.
Conduct customer training after product installation.
Answer technical queries about Labcyte products from customers and the sales team.
Identify, evaluate and develop new applications using Labcyte technologies.
Present experimental data and conclusions as application notes, journal publications, seminar presentations, performance comparisons, case studies, white papers and other formats that clearly highlight product benefits to customers.
Identify needs, trends, and issues from collaborators and customers, and translate into new product and application opportunities for internal consideration.
Requirements
:
Minimum qualification of a BS in a life science discipline
Knowledge of automated liquid handling, automation and robotic laboratory equipment
Experience with genomics, proteomics and/or pharmaceutical screening applications
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills
Exceptional problem-solving ability
Goal-oriented and self-motivated
High degree of customer focus
Ability to travel 70% will be required, primarily throughout eastern North America and occasionally other locations worldwide
